Tips for planting in pots without a drainage hole

It has long been established that a well-functioning drainage system is important to the wellbeing of potted plants and necessary in allowing them to grow to their full potential.

We have experimented extensively with our best-selling planters to find out the best way to plant in them.

The result? We find that using a plastic pot liner within the planter is the easiest and most convenient way. It allows the water to drain away from the soil and roots, and if you water too heavily, you can easily take the plant out to drain the water.

To keep the planter looking beautiful, we suggest using a liner that sits slightly below the rim of the planter. The plastic pot liners can be purchased online or from your local garden store and for our Australian customers, you can also find plastic pot liners at Bunnings.
